I was extremely enraged when I found out my son Polyphemus's eye has been stabbed out by that damned thief Odysseus and his men. My son prayed to me that I would punish Odysseus and his men by never letting them return home or make it very difficult, and if they do return home it will be destroyed or ruled by someone else. I saw to it that I made it seem hopeless for them, and I sent violent storms to throw them off course, and send to them away from land and slow them down. By putting them away from land they started to lose track of where they were.
By forcing them away from land they started to starve and go threw famine which made them desperate for food. Odysseus and his men tried to fish and get some food but I made it so their was no fish around them. His men scoured beaches in a desperate attempt to find food, but they found almost nothing. Which serves them right for coming into my son's house and helping them selves to his cheeses, and his sheep, and drink. After they helped them selves to his food they take his vision from him as payment for killing four of Odysseus's men, he should of killed them all as soon as he saw them.
As the days when on for them they grew more and more desperate for food, one day Odysseus and his men stop at a beach so Odysseus can go and pray to the gods. Odysseus warned his men not to eat Helios cattle and if they do they will suffer dire consequences. As Odysseus went to go and pray, and he did the gods answered his prayer by putting him to sleep. While Odysseus was asleep his men decided that if they sacrificed the cattle to the gods first, that they could eat it after words. Once Helios found out about his cattle being killed by Odysseus's men he made Zeus punish them, and if Zeus didn't Helios would never come up and bring light again, instead he would go down and light the underworld. So once Odysseus and his men set sail Zeus struck the ship with a lightning bolt and destroyed the ship killing everyone except for Odysseus, who did end up getting home but found sorrow once he got their.
